Jo Ede

MSc (DipSW.), Integrative Arts Psychotherapy MA (UKCP) 

 Jo completed a BSc (Hon) in Social Anthropology in Swansea University and began her career as an aid worker in Africa. Jo completed her Diploma in Social work and MSc in Social Policy focusing on Addiction Interventions at Swansea University. Whilst working as a social worker for over 25 years she gained experience with adults and young people suffering from various degrees of substance misuse. She is registered with the Care Council of Wales.

Jo undertook Gestalt training at The Metanoia Institute in London and a further Masters Level in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy at the Institute of Integrated Arts in Education (IATE) Islington. Jo is now part of the academic board within the Well-being department of IATE.

Jo has run her own private practice in Mumbles for over 10 years and is a registered psychotherapist with UKCP (United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists).

Jo has worked in the NHS within psychiatric care at the Orchard Street Clinic. She has also worked in the charity sector as well as social services. She has completed all three levels of Internal Families Systems which is evidence based and is often used alongside 12 step recovery work and harm reduction.

Jo also uses attachment focused trauma models such as Dyadic Developmental Therapy as well as Art Psychotherapy and is familiar with CBT, Motivational Interviewing and the harm reduction models. However, her belief is that people need to be met where they are rather than a specific model of intervention.

Jo is now looking forward to managing Healics Recovery a sober living recovery house in Neath Port Talbot and supporting people to live a healthy sober life.

Dr Sian Heke

MBBch

Sian has worked as a psychiatrist for the NHS for over 10 years.  Currently as lead clinician for the CRISIS team in Swansea and  also based on the male in-patient ward in Cefn Coed Hospital she  is responsible for  the assessment and treatment of patients with acute mental health problems.  With a specialist interest in substance misuse she also specialises in dual diagnosis and undertakes prescribing for substance misuse with Kaleidoscope.

 She  has currently embarked on a Psychotherapy Diploma and is qualified to practice IFS therapy with patients.

John Charles

John has over 10 years experience of working with substance misuse and currently works with offenders to help them address their complex needs and make positive changes to their lives. He has a wealth of experience in delivering group work interventions and diversionary activities to clients and has worked for private sector and voluntary sector agencies. He believes passionately that recovery from addictive behaviour is possible for anybody who wants it and works tirelessly to make opportunities for recovery available to as many people as possible.

Josh Ede

BA (Cantab)

Josh has worked with non-profit charitable organisations in various capacities for over 3 years. As part of his role working for QANDIL, a Swedish humanitarian organisation, Josh worked on community-based projects that supported vulnerable persons with complex needs enabling them to reintegrate into society.

Furthermore, during his time at the United Nations, (New York) Josh gained experience working as part of a multinational team, engaging with different stakeholders at various levels of society.

Josh’s interest in Healics Recovery is due to its potential to make a positive change in the lives of people, which will have a wider impact on the community where it is based.
